When asked, not many people would say they believe they’re prideful. That is, we know that we deal with pride in different areas of our lives at times, but for the most part we don’t live a life characterized by pride. After reading 1 Peter 5 today, however, I am reevaluating the pride that is so prevalent in my life.
1 Peter 5:6-7: Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Below is a very short and low quality video of 2/3’s of the blankets and coats we collected today. We are in the process of counting now and will update with a final total soon.
**UPDATE**
We collected 89 blankets, 98 coats, and several bags of clothes for the homeless in Louisville! Thanks to everyone who helped pass out flyers and collect the donations!

This winter, thousands of men, women, and children will live right here in Louisville without a home. With an average temperature of just 36 degrees, several homeless individuals die or are hospitalized due to hypothermia each year. A simple way that we can help is to provide adequate attire for the harsh winter weather.
This Saturday, December 5, we will canvass 1,000 homes here in Louisville, asking for donations for the homeless in our city. We have 1,000 postcards like Read the rest »

Today we began our new series on the spiritual disciplines by looking at 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.
